Do you think we will see anything new arriving in the surplus market???

I hear there are a boat load of the russian svt 40's but they won't allow them to be imported here.  I wonder if we will see any more sks's from a different country imported here?

Right now Century arms is offering the rusted south american 7mm mausers but there in very rough condition and called a good condition.  I have no clue as to why the mausers have jumped in price too.

I know many years ago as the ammo became available the sales soared too on the guns.

I guess the local gun shows is all we really have left.

I dunno but i hope something cool shows up... i just sent off for my c&r.  I did see i think on samco? that they had some yugo sks's.... svt40s are too expensive right now in my opinion, but very cool rifle.

I heard a rumor about Korea returning a bunch of garands. I think it was Korea. Not sure if it's true or not. Probably go to cmp so they can overcharge for them.

Korea has returned on the lend lease program back to us the 5k of garands and m1 carbines.  But i seen the quality of them posted on the net and some need a make over after paying the high prices.  This is mainly why i don't own any american made stuff yet the prices are out of wack with the rest of the imported surplus stuff.  Does the high prices mean its a better gun i think not.

If you don't have any yugo sks's you can still get in on the tail end of the import and i wouldn't wait too long too because the price increase is starting to happen right now just survey auction arms/gun broker sites for prices.  I'm seeing increases while the wholesalers/dealers are still offering them. (silly/stupid)

The Russian SVT-40 Tokarev is an awesome rifle in 7,62x54r.  Its like a longer, skinny sks that shoots the bigger 7,62x54r round.  Just don't be fooled by the svt-40 carbines because some are fakes.  I read a post on another site that said his buddy was a gun smith in Canada and was pumping out the carbines from the longer barreled svt's and you could tell the difference between the real thing or the cut down he was that good at it.  If we watch the guns for sale sights some reworked svt's do show up in different calibers too.  One is in 303 britt.  Its again buyer beware on whats out there if your not sure just ask here so Mikey and S.S. can help us out.  They bailed me out many times on info on what i had and what i'm looking at.  Trust them not the dogs at that are hounding you to buy there stuff.

Samco offers awesome stuff and i never had a problem with them.  Aim Surplus and Empire arms is ok too along with Allans Armory.  So use your C&R FFL03 very wisely grasshoppers don't be too fast on the trigger to purchase anything and make sure its a good buy.  Get the top shelf stuff you can now before the price goes any higher.  I like to collect the used stuff with the history gleaming from it and the unissued stuff too so i end up with two collections.  This stuff will be gold soon i'm sure.

I'm going out on a limb here too, most of the accuracy comes from the shooter.

Example;  My older brother was an excellent shot, he could shoot a gun once to see where it hit and then use kentcky windage and put every bullet in the black after that first shot.  He could do it at 100yds too with any rifle.  I think its all about staying focused.

I have. I snail mailed them a copy of my C&R, and they lost it. I found this out after I ordered a Yugo SKS, and two weeks after I ordered it they called and said they had no copy of my C&R. The girl that called me had such a heavy Cuban accent I spent half the phone call going "What did you say?" After two more weeks and 3 more phone calls and still no rifle I told them to cancel the order, and I got one elsewhere. Each time I called or they called, same girl on the phone. I just could not even understand what she was saying.

Back in the 1990's when the SVT 40's first began to appear on the surplus market I bought a fair amount of them for resale. The main problem with some of them is that while they looked fantastic on the outside, the chambers on many were bad. I had enough complaints that I quit buying them just before the market dried up.

I have found that countries, such as Russia, where money is in very short supply, will sell off military surplus after it is made to look super on the outside, but questionable on the inside, with no real regard for the end user just to make money the best way that they can.
