The Great New Orleans Gun Grab.....
« on: January 06, 2010, 07:08:07 AM »
I have aquired and am reading this scarry book which tells of the lawful citizens of New Orleans being
stripped of their leagaly owned guns by the N.O. police in a time of crisis (Katrina Aftermath )when the police could not be counted on to protected them.  How scarry, unethical and illeagal is/was this
act !!?? OH MY GOD !! For a time looters ran the night without police interferance and the police
were taking guns away from leagal law abiding citizens Trying to protect themselfs and their homes.
OMG !!!

I have only begun my study of the katrina aftermath. But this just sends a chill down my spine.
How common is the knowdgle of this gun grab ?? I only discovered it recently on a u-tube video.
I imagine the liberal media didn t work to hard to cover this aspect of the aftermath.

It is fairly well-known amongst folks who closely follow 2nd Amendment issues, I think. It was a scandal, and ought not be forgotten.

A law was later passed to prevent that sort of thing in the future. It passed 86-14, and it is instructive to see who voted against it.

Jesus said we should treat other as we'd want to be treated... and he didn't qualify that by their party affiliation, race, or even if they're of diff religion.

Thanks Yellowtail3. Fasinating and frigtening  stuff.  Not sure how I missed this for so long !

I take some comfort in the new legislation. However I think there were already laws on the books to prevent this in 2005. Frankly I suspect history will repeat itself somday dispite the new legislation.

New Legislation that protects the rights of gun owners and unarmed citizens in the aftermath of natural disasters - your kiddin', right?  I doubt there is any such thing, especially not in a state or county that believed G.W. Bush used captured WWII German weather technology to create Hurricane Katrina specifically to destroy NO and reduce the numbers of black people on welfare; this is the same state that ignored the gov'ts warnings of the impending disaster.  What did NO want us to do, stockpile fema trailers outside the city beforeahnd so that after the hurricane hit the place could look like a Tennessee divorce court parking lot????

You don't need new legislation to protect yourself against that kind of scandalous police behavior - you already have Colt Rule Number 45, Springfield Rules 308 and 30-06, and Armalite Rule #556, and let's not forget the Smith and Wesson Rules # 38 and 357 too.  jmtcw.

What country believes that? I've never even heard that, before.
