Custom grip cap for Encore?
« on: January 17, 2010, 03:42:24 AM »
Hi all-
I've seen the ones on Ebay with the engraved patterns (deer track, bear paw, mule deer skull, etc) but I'm trying to find a plain old stainless steel cap.  Contacted the seller of the engraved ones but no reply.  Seems to me that with the OEM plastic cap with the T/C sticker being kind of cheap, there would be a thriving aftermarket for these.
Any help?
Thanks,
Paul

Some of the engraved caps on ebay are plastic too. I have a stainless one on my G2 and really like it.

I have the bear paw one that he makes.

I made up a couple just playing around. I cut a 1/8 piece of pecan and a 1/8 piece of black walnut glued them together with carpenter glue and when dry cut to fit sanded and put on a couple coats of stock finish and installed. look pretty nice and different.

That sounds cool, Deacon.  I'll see what I've got laying around and give it a go.  If I don't like the results I'll probably just get the mule deer skull version of TRM-1's from the ebay seller.
Thanks guys.

Here are pictures of caps that I laminated and made. I used the copper ovel head screws from cabnet hinges instead of the black Tc ones.

Very nice!  I especially like the way it looks on the pistol grip.  Great work; thanks for posting the pics.
