Unhappy Henry buyer now Happy
« on: September 10, 2010, 08:32:45 AM »
Well after seeing all the positive talk about Henery .22s I went out and bought not one but two. Worst gun buy I ever made. Had a dealer order me a standard .22 and a .22 Mag with the octagan barrell. Both guns are good looking and the actions are slick!! Both guns shoot like a $3 bb gun. The .22 standard shoots 6 inches high and 3 inches right with any thing I fed it. All shooting was at 25 yards. Found the rear sight was bent. Changed out the bent sight and it shoots 5 inces high on center. Can not lower the rear sight any more. The .22 Mag shot 5 inches high and 4 inches left. Now your saying " This guy can't shoot" Had a younger(he is still in the military) shooter try it-- same results. I put a 1 to 3 x scope on the .22Mag got it to do 3 shots inside a quarter with almost any thing I fed it (at 25yds). Second trip to shoot it same results. I also took my old Marlin 1897 with open sights. I put a hole where I wanted it every time. It an't the shooter.

I now do most of my hunting and shooting with lever guns and peep sights. I had gotten the .22 standard to introduce some grandkids to shooting and hunting. Not going to happen with a gun that can't hit a coke can at 30 feet everytime. I got the .22mag to replace my .22 Hornet. Wish I hadan't sold it. I don't like a scope on a lever gun so it is coming off.

I have called Henry twice and talked to a nice lady that gave me the runaroud. All I got from customer service was a statment that they would call me back and get the problem fixed. No call

If any one is thinking of buying a Henry  email me and I will give you my phone number so I can talk you out of wasting your money.

More than likely these two will be going to the next gun show with me.

Henry's customer service is second to NONE. And if you ask you can speak to the head many himself. I've spoken with him many times. Some times he will even be the one who answers the phone when you call. They will treat you right on that you can depend.

The Henry's I've shot were accurate.  I just don't like the plastic and painted parts.

Anthony Imperato is the finest man you will ever talk to about guns, and service.  I have 3 Henrys JUST BECAUSE OF HIM.  The rifles shoot well, too, and function the way they should.  Plus they have good American walnut, better figure than most Remingtons.
Vote them all out, EVERY election!

UPDATE--- I sent the two rifles back to Henry Monday overnight. They received them Tuesday at 9:57 am. It is now Thursday afternoon. I just called Anthony at Henery and was told the replacements were on the fast track (?) and I should have them by next Thursday. He also said that on one of them the sight was twisted. I will up date next Thursday.

Update again. Shortly after my last post I received a call from Anthony Imperato saying that he checked farther and they would ship my replacement rifles in the am. They also would expidite them and I should have them Monday. He said they will be sending me two cases at a later date. I told him that was not nesacery. Henery is really trying to make me a happy camper. I hope that the replacement rifles shoot a lot better than the ones I sent back. I will give a range report as soon as I can.

Hi, I'm sure your problem will be solve very quickly. Mr Imperato is the best one to help you. For him the service is the most important. My first Henry had plastic parts on it and he sent me metal ones at no charge. I bought a Golden Boy 22 lr and the barel band was black, same thing, he sent me a brass one at no charge and thanks me for the purchases of Henry arms. I have a small business and I do the best for my custommes but impossible to beat him on the custommer service.
I have 30-30 Marlin, had 22lr Winchester but the Henry are my preference
Waiting to read the suite

As promised by Mr. Imperato the replacement guns showed up at my place yesterday. They have some very good wood on them. The .22 has a slight mark on the receiver cover but I can live with it. The .22Mag is spotless. Both actions are smoth as silk. They had been shot at the factory from the look of the barrel crown. I was able to take them and a .22 CZ out for a short time this moring. I was only able to shoot at 25 yards today. All 3 guns were shot with factory sights. If I take my time the CZ will try to put 5 shots in one hole. The Henry .22 with the factory sights put 5 shots in a quarter size group--good enugh for me with the sights that came with the gun. The gun shot about the same with any thing you gave it except Stingers which it did not like. The .22 mag shot somewhat tighter groups with any thing  I fed it. I think this is due to the better sight picture. I think it will be getting a peep sight. I don't like scopes on leverguns.

Mr. Imperato --- I AM A HAPPY HENRY BUYER THANK YOU!!!

Good news Pardner, good to hear about some good customer care!

I have put peeps on my 44 mag and my 22 and I like them on lever guns myself.

...I AM A HAPPY HENRY BUYER THANK YOU!!!...
...you might consider modifying the title of your original post to foreshadow the good outcome; a potential Henry buyer might stop reading before they get to the happy ending...
