Underclocked,

Don't that beat all. First a powder for muzzle loaders - then a powder for cartridge rifles - now a powder for both, though I don't think the velocity is much on the cartridge loads.  It will be interesting to see what happens.  One thing it doesn't state is the cost.

By the way - if you don't mind explaining to this heathen, what does Underclocked mean?

May the Encore treat you well

Well, I don't know exactly.  I used to post mainly on computer forums where a lot of folks were "overclocking" their processors.  Seemed like an appropriate name since I didn't care for overclocking and am kinda slow in general.  :)

The latest Encore is not doing so well.  I knew it would be a challenge going in but it's proving a bit more of a challenge than I expected.  Best groups are in the 2.5 to 3" range so far and that rifle sure oughta do better.  My Huntsman does much better for much less money.

What does crow feather mean?      :)

Underclocked,

When I give my talk to the 4th graders, I become a light headed mountain man - doesn't take much acting - when captured by Indians, I fall into a fire pit and come up with a face, black from the soot - the Indians say that I have face like crow and have brains like feather.

Looks like this is a product made using Potassium Clorate.  I have a recipe for gunpowder that was given to me by an old lady some thirty years ago.  The recipe was supposedly brought to Texas by some early settlers.  I don't doubt that it wasn't.  I even made up a batch of it long ago, and it worked!  The only thing I ever fired it in was an old Jap rifle tied down to a big tire and fired with a long string.

Being an old retired buyer I always look at a couple of things on a new product.  I'll pass this along just for you information and thought.

First of all:  Does the product looks to good to be true?  Usually if it does, it is!

Next:  Asking for money up front?   Usually it's not a good idea to get involved with someone that wants money before a product is actually available for delivery.  It seems to me like that's what they are doing here.

Another thing to consider:  Does the company involved have a physical address?  I don't see one on their website.

They are also asking for a lot of personal information when you try to contact them.  Which I didn't give them.

I did and got a form letter reply.  It mainly said something about using heavier bullets.  What, 475 grains isn't enough???   :-)

Here it is, forgot I kept it:

"Dear Customer, This is Magkor Industries, Inc.
Thank you for your interest in our revolutionizing new Black Mag’3
with MRP (moisture resistant properties).   At present we are working daily in order to establish “Distribution” in your area.
On behalf of Magkor I would like to thank you for your e-mail and support of Black Mag’3.
We will add your name to our list of customers in order to supply you with news and or literature / specs. of our Product.
In the near future you may also want to check the newly designed FAQ page located at our web site magkor.com

Technical Support.

**Tip :     A heavier bullet retains its initial energy better than the lighter one…offering more penetration on a game. Bullet must expand… if it does expand properly with enough velocity, then it will generate sufficient shock for a fast, clean harvest."

Buddy of mine in Virginia bought a pound of the stuff.  His sporting good store had a bunch of it at $30 a pound!
