NEF Barrel Accessory Program - Access from Canada

Has anyone tried to get in on this program from Canada?

I just spoke with the Chief Firearms Officer in Yorkton and he's said I should easily be able to send the stock, receiver and forearm down for fitting a new barrel (20ga smootbore to a 20ga bull barrel rifled slug gun). I'll not even have to amend the registration because it'll be the same caliber.

He figures it'll work really well although there may be a problem for the manufacturer to send it back because of a US State Department reg that is trying to curtail the export of guns (and bits) from the States.

Anyone with any experience in this?

I f I remember corrctly, the NEFwebsite says it's only available to US residents.Otherwise it is a great idea, and I'd love to avail myself of it. Ifthatdoesn'twork, then possably picking up a Mossberg SSI may be a good idea[ They are on sale, looks like they won't be in production any more]
