stock question
« on: January 18, 2010, 05:13:02 AM »
My handi has the standard pallet stock on it.  I was looking at getting a thumbhole for it, but I can't tell on the website if the stock item # is a "stock and forearm" or just a "stock".

I'm trying to get away from a stock that is so bulky.

Are there any places other than HR1871.com that you can order stock sets?

They're just stocks, forends are separate, another $40 or so, Brownell's sells some stocks, Boyd's makes the t-holes, but only sells them as seconds occasionally and on ebay, the only other wood stock maker is site sponsor GSI, see the rotating banner near the top of the page for site sponsors, or in the links list in the green bar.

The pallet stocks can be worked on to make them very nice indeed, I don't have the patience for nice wood work, but others here have done fantastic work on their stocks, such as was done with my 35 Rem stock which I bought from a member here, and Fred's work on his Ultras.
