MEYECO Blackie Collins knife??
« on: January 22, 2010, 05:52:46 PM »
I picked up this hunting knife in a Sally Ann thrift shop today for $2.00.  After bringing it home I googled the markings.  The subject line above is not a typo.  It says "MEYECO TM / patent pending" (2 lines).  "Blackie Collins" is etched on the left side of the blade.  On the right it says "MFG.IN / CHINA,NAT'L / HEADQUARTERS USA" (3 lines).  The handle is rubbery, blade is 4 1/8" with a slight drop point and 5 squarish notches at the back of the blade as a thumb placement.  It should be marked MEYERCO.

Do I have a knock-off or a rare mis-mark??  I suspect the former, as the tip of the blade has a slight bend from miss use.

Oh Well;  I can always use another shop knife to abuse or lose.

I have a MEYERCO/blackie collins neck knife that resembles what you have. (Only MUCH smaller 1 1/2" blade)

I bought it new, its not the best quality, but is lite has a quick retention kydex sheath and works well for what it is.
