Yes, Freedom Group ultimately owns H&R. The management hierarchy in this particular line (Freedom Group owns many other assets), is apparently Freedom Group > Remington > Marlin > H&R. Freedom would likely not exercise day-to-day management over any of the operational units, however. My guess is H&R people make most of their own tactical operational decisions. Strategic operational decisions are likely Rem/Marlin/H&R acting in concert, so that their product lines mesh as well as possible, with oversite from Freedom. Each business "chief", who will have more operational experience with the product than anyone at Freedom, is still going to be answerable up the chain, particularly for financial decisions and results, ultimately to someone at Freedom. But that's just my guess at how their org chart is set up...influenced by a 35 year career in a large, multi-line corporation.

Did a google search Freedom Group 46 million hits, versus Remington 11 million; hoo would've thunk that?

Maybe we say Remington owns H&R because we think in things and people, Remington makes things (G&A), and Eliphalet and sons were people.
What is a group anyway - do they mainly group other things that other people make; and where can one find a freedom group logo ball cap/hat?

Even though Willys, Kaiser, AMC, Chrysler, and Diamler-Benz (might have left out one or two) have owned Jeep, it's still a "Jeep".

Try that again using "freedom Group Inc", you'll get less than 50,000 hits, you'll get 178,000 hits for "Remington Arms";)

But you get 11,100,000 hits for "Marlin" so going by this logic I guess Marlin owns H&R.  Larry

That's because every Marlin reference on the net is being included which includes any reference to Marlin that anyone posts about, do a search on "Marlin Firearms", you'll only get 61,100 hits. Do a search for trotter!!  ;D

Denial. And...the original jeep was a 3/4 ton command car. The CJ5 type vehicle was a peep and the amfibian was a seep. As Walter Brennan always said in The Guns of Will Sonnet, "No brag, just fact!"

Cerbus capital management owns H&R through the Remington firearms company. And Cerbus is the  "3 headed dog that guards the gates of hell." does that give you a warm fuzzy feeling.
As for jeeps I had a Willys CJ2 1947 model 4wd with a Hercules Hurricane 4 cyl.
It was a quite the ride thank god it couldn't talk or would I have been in trouble.
