5MM REM - IT'S BACK
« on: January 21, 2010, 04:28:27 AM »
I see that TC has listed the 5mm Rem Mag in 14" and 23" barrel only(no complete gun).  Not sure how I feel about that....Hmmmmmmmmm...might have to have one...I got out of the 5mm business years ago....never had a TC barrel for it.  Best I recall, it had a little more smack'm than the 17HMR.

They have had the 5MM barrel listed since last year and a company has made ammo for it again also. I have seen the ammo at a local gun shop.

You know, ever since I first read about the 5mm Remington Magnum a few years ago, I thought it was a great idea.  Seeing it try to resurrect itself sure is nice, but at 30 cents a round, I just can't figure out what I could do with it that I can't do with either a .22 LR or a .22 Hornet.

That's not to say y'all shouldn't have one if you want it.  If ammo was priced closer to the mid-ranged .22 LR and .22 Magnum ammo, I'd probably be all over a 5mm Remington.
