Ed's TC
« on: January 05, 2010, 12:15:06 PM »
I have a couple of questions about ed's. First, do you think that ed will be at the upcoming tulsa gun show. And second, will ed take barrels in trade. The reason that I ask is that I want to trade in 10" .357 mag for a 14" .357 max, but I also want to buy a 10" 22lr. I didn't know if ed did stuff like that.

We're coming up on tax season, and as far as I know, Ed is still an accountant, so he may be tough to get in touch with via phone or email.  It's still early in tax season, though, so maybe he hasn't gotten busy yet.  Just don't be surprised if it takes a while to get an answer.

Ed only make the big shows in Tulsa and Oklahoma city, Sooners and the warnermakers which are the two biggest shows. I have never seen him at any of the others and I make almost all of them. But he will do some trading with you unless he has a lot of the barrels that you are trying to trade, some of the Items that I have tried to sell or trade he just says I have to many of them myself, you just never know but as has been said he is hard to catch, watch for the next big show and you can catch him there. You can look on the web under oklahoma gun shows and see when sooners will be. The one this weekend is a Medcalf show and is not a real big show.

You would be better off putting the Mag. barrel in the classifieds and selling it there rather than trying to trade it in.  Ca$h always speaks louder

WayneS has a good point. Its probably like trading  you old car for a new one at a dealership? Your always going to get more if you sell it outright, then apply the money towards the new purchase. Plus, selling a barrel here is a whole lot easier then selling a car, lot less tire kickers and less phone calls from folks just wanting to talk about their cars they had in the past.
While a 357 mag,10 inch might not be a hot seller here, you will find someone willing to buy it.
I have one, I like it !

You should rent a 357 max reamer from Clymers and turn the mag into a max. Best thing I ever did to my 10" mag you would still be 4" short but getting 1800 FPS w/ 180 from my 10" max isn't bad. It is not a hard job either Im sure someone here could walk you through it. Or find a gunsmith with that reemer it shouldn't cost much.
