Hey I was just wondering a few things First off in your opinion do you feel that you get more money from drying and selling your furs at a fur auction Second how do you go about getting these pelts skinned out to be good enough to sell to the fur auctions Third How do you preserve the ears on and animal that you want to skin out Fourth does anyone know of any fur auctions around in the state of Illinois? Let me know thanks

Adam  i could explain for a month of sundays but  it would be better if you went to a  fur dealer that has been in business for awhile or find a trapping mentor with skinning and put  knowledge with fur.  You know  you can read something but it is not like seeing it first hand and then getting yr hands on experience with  a mentor by yr side.   Do you belong to your states trapping association?  Any more questions fire away.

Adam, here is the link to Illinois Trappers Association.
http://home.gallatinriver.net/~willemspd/
Contact the I.T.A. director in your area and see if they have any trapper ed. classes available in your area. If not they may know someone who will be willing to show you. Ask the fur buyer who comes through town if he knows anyone close.
GOOD LUCK! foxhopper :-)
