topper 88 won't fire

I have a problem with the transfer bar dropping down as the hammer falls creating a no-fire.This problem started abruptly and the gun has not fired since.I have not opened it up,but any ideas as to what I should be looking for? This is serial prefix NT model 88 topper .410.
Any suggestions will be appreciated      G66

Broken lifter spring? See the FAQs trigger hone link by Perko to replace it, or confirm it's broken.
