Trip to the range with the 6.5MD JDJ 6.5JDJ 309JDJ

It was 65 degrees here today so I went to the range to shoot and I wish I had bought a chronograph years ago. Sure is interesting to see difference in loads.

6.5 JDJ  Reloder 15 35.5 grs Nosler 100gr B.T.  2478 FPS
6.5 JDJ  Reloder 15 36.0 grs Nosler 100gr B.T.  2533 FPS

6.5 MD JDJ AA4350 48.0 grs Sierra 120 Spitzer 2693 FPS
6.5 MD JDJ AA4350 48.0 grs Nosler 120 B.T.     2701 FPS

309 JDJ  AA4350 51.5 grs Nosler 150 B.T.  2289 FPS
309 JDJ IMR4350 51.5 grs Nosler 150 B.T. 2335 FPS

After seeing that  IMR4350 produced a higher velocity in the 309JDJ with the same charge weight as AA4350 I'm going to buy some more IMR4350 and try it in the 6.5MD JDJ.

thanx for providing chrono data.  not surprising that imr4350 produced higher velocity than aa4350. use caution as powders from different manufactures  even though they may have the same number id are completely different powders, do not use loading data for one with another or you could be courting disaster.:D
if you need to add politically to the word correct, it isn't!

How accuarate is the 6.5 MD? Am I correct in assuming that the MD is short for Mini-Dreadnought made by SSK?  What case is the 6.5 MD based of off?

Yes the MD is SSK's Mini-Dreadnought. The 6.5 & 257 MD's are based on the 220 Swift case. After you fireform it the case is almost straight walled. When I first load a fireform load with 44.0 grs of AA4350 powder fell on the floor when I moved the case away from the powder measure drop tube. Tried another case and the same thing happened, powder on the floor. I had to dump the powder in my scale pan and slower pour the powder into each case and then the powder was about 3/16 of an inch below the case mouth. I'm now loading 48.0 grs. of AA4350 and the powder comes up the the shoulder neck junction. I haven't shoot many loads yet but most are running under 1.5 inches. The fireform loads shoot really well too.
