Spotlight power, on a budget
« on: February 13, 2010, 01:52:51 PM »
I have a scope mounted spotlight for night time adventures, but found myself swinging my rifle around, alot!  Decided I needed a portable, non-mounted light also.  Here is what I came up with:  $20 walmart spotlight, $5 12 volt outlet, and one of my 14 volt dewalt cordless tool batteries(btw, I am using my dewalt radio as a PA system for my MP3 player).  So far so good with it.  I can have my scope mounted one on only when I need it and use the smaller one to scan horizon instead of swinging the gun.  The red lens is actually a piece of polycarbonate lexan sheet that is used on lighting up buildings with floodlights for christmas, could also just use red plexi.
