Front sight screws are either 3-48 or 6-48, never seen a 4-48 Larry.  ???

I just cut down a .357 barrel two days ago and the front sight was attached with a 4-48 NF screw.  I now have a 4-48 tap.  Larry

So the 3-48s were tooo small, and the 6-48s were tooo big, but the company, in their infinate wisdom, has decided the 4-48s are juuust right. Title this 'Goldieshots and the 3 H&Rs'!

That's a new one for the FAQs, was it an Ilion barrel? It's bad enough having two sizes to deal with, now they've thrown a third one in the mix!  :-\

This was an earlier barrel with the welded on stud and 1/4 28 threads.  Larry

An old H&R Inc made prior to 1987, thanks....then my statement still holds water, modern post '86 front sight screws are 3-48 or 6-48.  ;D
