Would you glass bed a plastic/composite rifle stock?
« on: October 24, 2010, 07:05:59 PM »
I've been wanting to try out glass bedding.  I figured I could try it out on my Stevens 200 in 22-250.  If I can do it with that I'd do it on some other rifles that are wood.  My question is should you bed a plastic stocked rifle?  If so, is there a product that would work better on plastic vs. wood stocks?  Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I would if I wasn't satisfied with how the rifle is shooting.

Hmmm well seeing as how a lot of the cheaper plastic stocks are far more flexible than the wood ones you might just get a stable action platform with a proper glass bedding. That's why they put alloy bedding "shoes" in the plastics to stiffen them up  ::).

DO IT!!! You won`t hurt it and it may help alot. I ever bedded a Striker action in and it made a big improve in accuracy with it.
