New GIrl Friend.........
« on: January 27, 2010, 03:55:42 AM »
Her Mother is a tried and true Texan, fourth generation, the father is German, his parents worked the Berlin Wall for many years, he came to America about a year ago and has really progressed as a protection dog.  My girl was born Aug 18, 09, she is black and red (the tan looks red).  At just over five months she weighed in at 56 pounds.  This was the first litter for the mother, though big (97 pounds), she only had five pups, the Sire hit the scales at 135 pounds. My Vet said she should be a 95 pound class dog when grown. I have started her training and should have a very good friend and protector shortly.  I am working with a professional trainer 1 ½ hours five days a week, he is impressed with her and is trying to talk me out of having her spaded.

We had never given a female German Shepard much though when looking for a replacement for our old dog that died several months ago, but I was so impressed with her when we first met that I couldn’t resist bringing her home. She is a beautiful and loving girl and even at this age wants to please so bad.

Good luck with your dog.

I think that the females tend to be more protective of their 'family' and tend not to want to wander as much as males.  Maybe it's the mothering instinct.  Sounds like you have a good one.
