Handi, sturdy, consumable gun vise.
« on: January 27, 2010, 07:13:42 AM »
As everyone who hangs out here knows, I'm a lazy Old F**t.  Too lazy to go to the barn and the Gun/tool room to get the gun vise at 6 a.m. and 6 degrees.  Looked around, found this.  Works great.  12 pack of gatorade.  Try it, you'll like it.  It's solid for scope mounting, bore sighting and cleaning.  When done, ya'll kin drink it plain or mixed.

It's a cheap one.  I had good luck with A1 Optic red dots and decided to try one of their scopes.  3-12x50, parallax adjustable.  60 bucks.  The rifle is a new style synthetic stock, standard profile .223.  I really like the new stock.

Rex, Orange.  I done it alone......how do you want yours?.....mixed or straight?

What is the "new style" synthetic stock???  What did they change?  I'm wishing they had a thumbhole synthetic that was formed like the wood ones!!!

P.S.  I want mine mixed....more mix than gatorade!!  Just a touch of orange for me!

What is the "new style" synthetic stock???  What did they change?

They're totally different than the old style, better recoil pad, forend is more substantial and they're checkered too.

I take my gator aid straight Pete. Maybe with a pinch of gun powder, but that makes me get mean. ;D

Pete where did you find that $60.00 scope?
Have you had it long enough to tell if it will hunt.

Jeepman, if ya had a nice walnut stock, the caps on the longnecks might scratch it.  Best to empty the long necks first.

Rex, the scope came out of huntersmall.com.  It's an A1 Optic.  I never tried one before, but I've had good luck with their red dots and superb service and communication with Dennis at Hunters Mall.  I boresighted it yesterday, but haven't shot with it.  It's 10 above zero and snowing like the hammers of hell.  I just came back from the barn and it's blowing so hard I had trouble staying on my feet on the snow and ice.......not a good range day.  It's probably a good day for Jeepman and I to get together and see if drained long necks would work well.  I probably ought to ask Richard, AtlLaw, to come up and make some shims at the same time.
