when i was a welder had a lot trouble keeping my glasses clean and scratch free found out after a little exsperimentation i found out if you use pledge furniture polish on the lenses it takes out the scratches and shines up the lens also protects the lenses from weld spatter works on sun classes too doesn't mean you have to use pledge spray on polish other may work as well. try it i hope it works for you from buying new glasses

Thanks ratdog!...My prescription sunglasses sure have suffered a beating from the many times I was out on the Scooter. I shall give this a try.

I had an optomitrist tell me once that glass is actually more vulnerable to splatter from welding and grinding than plastic. Doesn't seem logical, but he seemed sure of himself.
