OK. Now I'm broke...
« on: January 28, 2010, 11:43:20 AM »
Today I bought my fishing, small game/upland bird, spring turkey, and bear licenses, and my conservation Stamp. It cost $121.50.   Its a good thing the deer, elk, antelope and waterfowl plus duck stamp don't get bought till summer.....unless I do the lottery draws, which I do.

I just purchased 2 hunting licences and 2 upland bird stamps. One for me and one for my son. Cost: Over $200 for both. SHortly, I have to buy my Idaho license, elk tags, deer tag and bear tag. I have not added it all up yet, but it will be another $500 or so. Not to mention all the other costs of a week long trip there.

This huntin is gettin spenive!

I've purchased my last hunting license here in Bama. From now on it's all free for the rest of my life. I only have to pay if I go out of state.

Boy am I spoiled....25 bucks in our state and it includes deer hunting for 5 months ---two antlered deer a day and unlimited does on doe day, turkey---if you ask for the tags, dove, and fishing.  When I reach 65, it's lifetime for the same 25 bucks..

Hey, its OK to get spoiled. Hunting is expensive as it is. Glad some folks get a break.

My fishing license is free now but I still have to pay to hunt just like everyone else in the state. No free lunch to hunt because of age.

Rates aren't too bad here.  $50 for in-state (or maybe $60 now? May have had a price increase) buy you a "sportsman" package which covers small game, big game, migratory bird, fishing (freshwater only - saltwater is extra), etc.  It also includes the right to hunt on public/WMA lands.  About the only thing that doesn't cover is waterfowl privileges which is $5 for state permit and $15 for the fed stamp.

They do nickle and dime ya with a lot of optional addons though :).  Normally except on special days SC is buck only - you can buy up to 4 doe tags at $2.50 each though.  Trot line permits, set hoot permits, salt water fishing license, shrimping permit, etc.

I'm good until the end of June though :).

I hunt on my own farm so it doesn't cost a dime.
Gave up fishing a long time ago.

MG I think I paid 65 for all mine last year. Believe we are in the same state I figured it up and the lifetime will pay for itself in less than 10 years.
