28 gauge

Ordered a 28 gauge today.  Why??  Because a pair of 20's, a 12, and a pair of 17's were lonely.  Shells will be pricey, but might as well get one while I can.

Congratulations on getting a fine gun in your 28. You may be pleasently surprised in the price of 28 gauge shells. When I got my 28 I also was concerned but have found the shells on sale many times. I don't even worry about it now, they always seem to be reasonably priced here in the Northeast....<><....:)

I got a 28 ga. special ordered for Christmas and the trigger lock in the box had come loose and damaged the barrel in several places.
I called CS and they told me that I had to send the whole gun back for repair.
I tried to get them to let me send just the barrel back for repair.
They told me that they would replace the barrel and destroy the old barrel.
I have not even shot the gun yet.
Destroying a H & R barrel, especially a 28 gauge, is like SACRILEGE !!!

I love my 28ga great for squirell and especially for the starlings that invade my old farm house every spring. Walmart has winchester 7 1/2s for $9 and remington 8s for $8 about the same as 410 ammo

Around here yu can buy 28,16 Ga ammo even at small store down the road. They stock it since we have alot of quirrels hunters and few oldvtimers who have sweet sixteens.

I only own 12 guages at the moment, but if I ever decide to add another gauge and can find a decent 28 guage O/U its a done deal!  Love the 28 guage for Squirrel, Rabbit, Quail and Dove hunting.

You can get Rio 28ga ammo at a pretty good price from Able's ammo.Shoots good and they have a variety of loads in stock.

i had a 28 for years , got to where i didnt shoot it i got the dumbas* idea to use it as a trade chip , wish i never had, they are fun and useful , and it dont take much to reload enough  for a year in a short time with minimal  investment.  ive got my eye open  for one again .

Well I picked it up Sunday.  Haven't been to shoot it yet.  Gander ordered it for $129.  The only thing I don't like is the finish on the wood.  It doesn't look like it is finished, kind of rough.
