Lyman Peep Sight Question - Pictures added
« on: January 31, 2010, 01:17:12 AM »
I apologize if this is the wrong forum. I recently picked up a Marlin 1893 rifle that has a Lyman tang sight on it. I am trying to figure out if it's an original Lyman tang sight, or something newer. There's one on gunbroker and it looks a lot like that one. Is there a way of determining if it's an original Lyman sight or one of the later produced ones?

Thanks Llyod. It is all steel and I added some pics below. I got the magnifying glass out and did find writing. It reads "PAT JAN. 29, 79 - MAY 6, 84"
