I have five or six 30-30s of one brand or another but no 35 remingtons.  I have had a desire for one for some time but have never had the money when I found one and it was gone when I did have the cash.  Ammo is a real problem around here as I have never seen 35 remington ammo on the shelf.  As I reload it would not be too hard to order some brass and a bullet mold and dies for reloading it. It is not a big priority as I mostly shoot either a 30-30 or a 45-70 when woods hunting and they work fine.

30-30 makes the most  sense

flatter shooting....cheaper  ammo..more available  ammo

notice  how  many LOVE  their  35
must  be something to this

like some  have  said ,, you will  have  both eventually

GET  THE  35

you  will always  find a 30-30  to buy

  i like the way a 35 kills.  but the way things stand today,  i would totally go with the 3030.   the 35 can be finicky to reload, and hard to even find ammo for.

Where I live, Dick's stocks both Hornady Leverevolution and Remington Cor Lokts in 35 Remington.  Since there is a little less demand for it also, I can usually find it online somewhere.  It just has not been a problem.  It is one of those calibers for which I do not reload because the factory ammo seems to be more than adequate and I have not had a problem getting it.

you notice no one has to say "where i live, they stock 3030 ammo".       
 
  i had a 35 contender, and in northern wisconsin it can be hard stuff to find.

Not many 35 shooters down here so finding ammo isn't a big problem.
It sits on the shelf until I need it. I have been relaoding for mine.
Using my cast bullets and haven't experienced any problems.

  Having ammo for your hunting rifle, is kinda like when you have to take a pee.  You don't wait until you pizz your pants before you head to the bathroom do you?   :D

All you really need for a lifetime of hunting deer is 2-5 boxes of ammo. Order it from Cabela's, hunt for 5-50 years. Odds are high that you will have another gun after a few years have passed anyway. If you are plinking, stack it deep and cheap by shopping the sales and gun shows. And/or reloading.

 believe me, i am not one you have to lecture about having ammo.  where i live 35 remington is hard to find, and if you can find it your choices are very limited.
