Several years ago I had a friend who had a Grandfather who lived in Minnesota. He wanted to bring his
Grandfather out to San Diego for a visit. His Grandfather refused to fly so he looked into Amtrack
from Minnesota to San Diego Ca. It was going to cost close to $2000 round trip vs about $450
round trip by air. In addition it would have taken around 5 days each way by train! He decided
to just fly back to Minnesota to see him instead.
