T/c's Custom shop Had SST frames with a Buck engraved on the side with scroll work. you could get your choice of the Laminated or walnut ThumbHole stocks For $349.95.  I thought that was a good deal so I orderd One and a friend did as well.

Well We got them yesterday.  His was perfect. Mine the Bottom of the trigger guard was coverd in RUST..  Well I called them They are sending a call Card For the frame. They wouldn't Just send a trigger Guard (Get this) They don't Keep them. They have to get them from the Factory..   Why Does everything have to be a Pain in the Butt   They should Look stuff over before they send it!

I agree it is a PIA BUT at least they stand behind their stuff for LIFE!!!!!!!!

Unless they are outsourcing, that is an extremely ODD statement from TC. There is no true custom shop with Thompson-Center. Thompson-Center, Fox Ridge Outfitters and the TC Custom Shop are all basically one and the same.

Their customer service used to be one of the best around and served as a model or measuring stick for the rest of the industry. I know things are no longer quite the same there, but I'd wager they'll take care of you rather quickly -- at least I hope they do.

They are Doing a great job of Fixing the Problem.  just aggrevating that, they wouldn't just send a Trigger Guard. I have to send the whole frame and stock Back. They are paying for shipping both ways which is good.  T/C has always done right by me in the end !

I would almost bet that the trigger guard will have to be "fitted" if they actually replace it.  The trigger guard on all of the TC's is more that just a trigger guard.  It also has the "dogs" that trip the locking bolts, and those have to be just right.  That's just my guess as to why it must be returned to the factory.  That or they just don't want to have all of us actually take one apart for ourselves, which I guess I understand.

BTW. My dad's G2 has a cracked hammer spur (I won't say how that happened  ).  They want it to be returned for the repair also.  Dad figured that since it hasn't broken yet, he'll just keep using it until it finally breaks, then return it for the repair.
