Vwery Vwery CAREFULLY!!.  actually if you did want to release them , you can slowly cover them with  cover   and keep  foot in trap outside cover and you can release the.... you can either just leave cover on them and walk away as they will scoot out from under cover in time or you can slowly pull cover off while slowly walking away...sometimes skunk will go into tail up mode, but most times they boggy away toward cover..

Why would you release it? The essence alone is worth more than the pelt, but both togather are worth taking it back to the fur shed.

Now read back .... i said IF....i always harvest skunks   always a market for hides and quill......i make more  off hides  on    buckskinners ect than what fur  is selling for at auctions or furbuyers.. i sell   raw dried or tanned hides...  I was just giving you a method....IF ...you wanted to release mr pepi la Pew!
