Buy a NEw great traget rifle reasonably priced????
« on: January 26, 2010, 08:30:32 AM »
I just saw a Marlin 22 clip fed rifle in the local store but did not get to look it over.  It had a bull barrl and was calibered in 22 lr. Looking for a nice reasonably good target 22.  Prefer peep sights over a scope though. Considering tis Marlin with Bull barrel. Anyone have any other ideas for a good target 22 in the NEW market?  This was around $239.  and thought that was very reasonable.  IDEAS???

Savage makes several target rifles in 22 RF and they come with target sights and the accutrigger.  I have seen them shoot and they are accurate with ammo they like.

I like my CZ's better than any other new-bought .22 bolt guns, but they generally need some (simple) tweaks in order to shoot to their potential.

If you want accuracy out of the box, a Savage rimfire with Accutrigger probably can't be beat for the price.

I recently purchased a Savage Mark 11 in .22 LR. It shoots less than .5", five shot groups right out of the box at 50 yards, with Wolf match extra ammo. I'm very happy with my selection of the Savage.
