something different
« on: February 14, 2010, 05:42:41 PM »
I mentioned this for some time on other forums, I had not yet found this one, and considering that they are now making an 8 shot Blackhawk, perhaps they will be innovative in other areas. Uberti makes a "Cattleman" carbine, it is a 44 percussion revolving carbine, and I would love to see a 16.5 inch Ruger Super Blackhawk attached to a stock, removable or not, and 44 mag would not be a bad place to start, although I can see calibers that would work as well. Not only would it be a great CAS shooter, it would be wicked in the brush, hog hunting and deer hunting, in SS a great all weather gun for stand hunting, as well as in a car or plane. Just sayin......... :-*

Such a model is more novelty than practical I think.  I have one of the Beretta Stampede carbines and while fun to shoot it isn't something I'd use for anything other than just range plinking.  One could easily have a long bbl fitted to the Ruger cylinder frame  and I'm sure a GOOD woodworker could get a butt stock for it or maybe the skeletonized removeable one would fit.   I've seen 'em that had been built so it is possible.

I'd be REAL CAREFULL with this kind of project.  I know the ATFE is very opinionated about swapping out factory interchangable barrels and stocks on the TC contenders/encores from pistol to rifle.  I'm sure they'd have an opinion about what alterations you can make to your personal property.  It'd be best to do a little askin around.
