I am 25 pages into this forum. I have read all the sticky notes I can find and am still confused. I purchased a 1985 H&R (Sn starts AZ) 20 guage Model 088 at a sheriff auction for the total of $51.75 yesterday. Wood has been bumped around, trigger is great and probably factory redone, dust on/in barrel and action shows years of accumalation but no wear, all metal is 95% or better condition and frame is case hardened, bore looks great. It is a neat gun but I have to make up my mind whether to keep it or give it away. Answer hangs on; can I safely put a 357 mag barrel on this and if so can I safely ream it to 357 max. If not I know a Navajo family with a sheep ranch set up that would find use for it as a 20 guage. If I can convert it, it becomes CHRISTmas present along with ammo and a reload setup for our daughter. The answer is one I probably overlooked in the stickys but I have read them 2 or 3 times and am still not 100% sure.
Thanks for any help,
