QB78 strikes again
« on: December 13, 2009, 02:26:03 PM »
This was my longest shot so far with this rifle.
about 40 yards. Beeman ram jet pellet did the deed though.
Killed this one so fast that it still had a bite on the acorn it was eating
when I picked it up.

I don't know what caliber you have, but the Crosman Premiers, 7.9 grain, and the 14.2 or is it 14.3, grain 22 caliber Premiers, I can never remember, but I have 3 boxes on my shelf, anyway, these pellets have a much higher Ballistic Coefficient, as do the JSB Exacts.  You should try them, if you haven’t already.

I have tried them and they are quite accurate, but
I like the cutting edge around the dome on the
ram jet. punches a nice clean hole and penetrates
well. Every pellet I have tried except the PBA
gold pellets are very accurate out of this rifle.

Has your QB78 had any modifications or is it stock?

I did not order a new seal, I made one from 1/4 inch plastic water line that goes
to an automatic ice maker. worked great.

I have decided to order one for my son.  I am also building my youngest son a crossman 2240 carbine.

I am working on a 2240 carbine myself. I want a .25 caliber version also,
but have not found the barrel yet. I have seen one so I know somebody
makes them? I am also working on making a Crosman 760 pump into
a c02 powered system. Fun to tinker with.
