I have a friend that has a pardner 20 ga that was made in 96 or 97. He was dry firing it and the firing pin broke. I called H&R and they told me that alot of things have been changed on the shotguns and my best bet for getting a firing pin is to go to egunparts.com. I have a firing pin on the way and I am going to try and do it myself. When I called CS they asked if it is a pre 1987. When I told him no he made a comment that the factory will not work on anything that is pre 1987. I think the best thing to do is see if your receiver is pre 1987 and go from there. If it isn't and you are not comfortable attempting to do it yourself I would call CS and see if you can send it in to have the work done. Hope this helps you out.

the pin is fairly easy to replace but the problem can be finding the correct firing pin for your gun since they used 3 different types, I may have the pin should you want to change yours.

Try Numrich gun parts . Look in the Harrington and Richardson section.Ijust checked there and they list 3 different models, and 3 different fireing pins.

Can't your 'smith make one?  Provided he has a lathe and perhaps a mill I'd think that making one would not be all that difficult.

Lets see, a lathe, skill to use it, some drill rod and the old one for measurements. He cant get the right part and doesnt want to do a basic turning job a high school shop kid could do. Id be ashamed to call myself a gunsmith.

Tim, does one of the available firing pins have enough 'meat' on it to reshape for the obsolete ones?
If anyone has, or would do, a print of the different pins we might be able to make or modify the hard to get ones.

Numrich shows pics of the two they have in stock, unfortunately the one that he needs and is out of stock isn't shown.

I assume it is the small dia. that breaks(?) at the junction of the shank dia., or what?
If so, how about facing the broken stub off, and drilling into the shank with a number drill the proper dia. to replace the 'pin' portion, then using the shank of the same number drill as the replacement, soldered in.

Doesn't sound unreasonable, I doubt smiths do much of anything for less.
