registry cleaner?

Is it that important? I did a couple of  "free" scans and one said I had 400 something registry errors and the other said over 1,000.

Is it important to fix these?

Will it make my computer faster to repair this?

What is the best program for repairing them?

  I think that is the same question i ask a while ago. :-\.  GB suggested Ad-Aware. It does work. I also use SUPERAntiSpyware. That works also. After i run them my computer seems to run faster.

Be careful!
There are a number of Rogue Anti Virus advertisements out there, some are very persistant and are hard to get rid off. One of them called itself Anit-Virus 2000 if I recall, a real PITA.
There is a software called Crap Cleaner you can download, they also have other software that you might find useful .It is free but they do request support via Pay Pal.
I have run AVG ( getting pricey) and am using Stopzilla and Vipre now. They to do a great job.

   Isn't there a free version of AVG? I run that and it seems to work. So far i haven't got a bill for it.

My paid version of AVG ran out very recently and I did not see a free one other then a 30 day trial.

Me neither. Is a registry error a virus?

I have a couple of anti virus programs going and they say I'm fine.
Though one of them is a Norton product and I'm iffy about that one from what I've read.

  Don't know what to tell you guys. AVG comes up on mine if i google it but crap cleaner won't. AVG won't come up on my son in laws computer either.

I downloaded the free avg. I'll have to wait to run a scan at night, it slows my computer down way too much.

 I'm not near as smart as it read. I don't think Registry errors are virii.
Rethe crap cleaner. Try www.CCleaner.com and see if you get something.

  That did work BBF but it won't let me download it. Probably something i am doing wrong. So far the SUPERAntiSpyware works better than anything else i have tried. That seems to find things that Ad-Aware and AVG miss. Registry error is not a virus.

I've been using Crap Cleaner (now called CCleaner) for a couple of years now. It works fine.  There's one part that cleans your normal junk (history, recycle, etc.  and another part that scans your registry and lets you clean out the junk that piles up in that.  Really easy to use.  They request donations, but whether or not you send them is up to you.  They update their program several times a year and notify you when they come out with a new update.

   The SUPERAnti does the same as CCleaner so i think i will stick with that.
