new to me t/c thunder hawk , looking for info and manual .
« on: February 18, 2010, 10:49:43 PM »
hey guys I recently bought a t/c thunder hawk from bubba .50 and need some info . i can not seem to find any load data for this . the serial number is too low for the manual offered on the t/c web site .

i have some pyrodex 50/50 pellets(33 100 grain loads) left over from my switch to 777 in my cva inline  . i am not really that new to black powder i have done all my deer hunting with a cva buckhorn (2 seasons 2 deer), i just really need load data is all . hoping 100 grains pyrodex pellet load is safe , i will not shoot it until i can find load data .

I  think  any modern inline muzzleloader would be  safe to shoot at 100 grains,  that said  start at 70 and work up till you find a load that works good .  quit worrying about seeing  LOAD DATA  in writing and just shoot the thing .          FBC

The twist on your thunderhawk is 1:38, I had a Firehawk, same barrel/twist.  The rifle should handle up to 150gr. of pellets or 120gr. of loose powder.  My Firehawk like 110gr. pyrodex P.  If your rifle does not have the QLA it should be a great conical shooter.  Try great plains or buffalo bullets(if they are still around) or No Excuses or Bullshop makes a great conical.
