What do you guys think of this deal?
« on: November 09, 2003, 11:39:07 AM »
Found an easy open Contender frame with 14" 35 Rem barrel, front sight on and Leupold 3 ring scope base/rings and 4x Leupold scope.  All in 95%+ condition for 499?  Dealer also hase 10 inch 22lr for additional $169.00.

I feel the 35 Rem price is fair to a good deal, but the 22lr is a little much?

Thanks,

Fred

I'd say its a fair price considering what the older Contenders are going for nowadays..the 4x Leupolds will generally go for $150+ for a decent used one, and I've seen used three ring mounts sell on eBay for $40+.

Yes I think thats a little much for the 22 barrel especially if its not the 22"match" chamber, if you want a nice 10" 22 bull barrel let me know, I have an extra I'd sell you for $135 del.(US address only)

i'd say it's a fair price too. and agree the $169 is a little high on the 22lr barrel. sounds like a good quality setup. maybe you can talk him down just a little. then it would be a great deal.
i bought a stainless contender, stainless 14" 44mag, tsob scope base, pachmayer grip and forearm for $390 at the flea market, with no paper work to fill out. how'd i do? i thought it was fair. :D
