good boots?

For you guys who have alot experience in the mountains/guideing what would you suggest for a good boot to look at?

I went out shed hunting today and realized I need something alot better than I have. Normally i dont go out looking after it just rained but needless to say my feet got totally soaked.

I want a good light weight hunting/hikeing boot non insulated preferably waterproof, gortex or something of the sort, very good ankle support and perferably full leather. not a leather/cordura mix or anything like that.

I plan on using theese boots not just for hunting but also summertime hiking. thus non insulated. I would like the room for a good pair of insulated socks when cold out also.

As you have noticed i didnt give a price range. I really dont feel you can put a price on your feet since in my opinion thats your most important part of your body for what I like to do.

Cabela's has good gortex lined non insulated boots that sound like what you need. I have a pair I wear when hunting and when out working as well. They are light but all leather for good protection and support. They have the same boot insulated as well. They come in brown or green. I have green for non insulated and brown for insulated so I can tell them apart at a glance.

I've come to love my U.S. Danners (3 pairs), the chinese models, not so much. The fit and construction of the chinese models ( I have owned 5 pair and 3 models ) are fine, the materials are of lesser quality. The stitch down models last forever, chinese about 18 months (I am on my feet a lot and on abrasive surfaces).

I will buy Danner again but not of chinese import. YMMV
