SR9 compact
« on: January 05, 2010, 09:56:53 PM »
I like the looks of this. Comes with a 2nd full size mag and grip extension. Now if they would only make it in 357 sig or 45acp! Sturm Ruger are you listening!

I don't sweat carrying a 9mm, but I have a ton of 357 sig rounds for my G33. I'd like to get my hands on one and see how it feels. I really like what I'm seeing.  I kinda like the frame mounted safety. I heard you can't dry fire the SR9, which is to bad because it is good training time.

Darn I didnt know I was not to dry fire my SR9!
Oh well it hasnt been hurt the last 2 or 3 thousand time so I will keep doing it, dry firing that is.
The compact interests me much more than a XD, Glock of Smith.  When I get one I will  order a couple of extra shot mags.
Shoot straight and smooth.

From what I've heard, you can dry fire the SR-9 if you leave the magazine in. I know gun shops have offered to let me dry fire the ones they have in stock.

Go to the Ruger site, look up SR9c, extras and watch the video. They tell you right there you can dry fire it all you want.
You have to dry fire it with the magazine in because it won't fire without one.

I had a dealer tell me once that he felt that all of his gun inventory would be sold long before any dry firing would ever have an effect of any particular gun.  Responsibility of new guns would fall on the manufacturers and the used guns were his problem.
