My Encore was misfiring about 1 in 4 rounds, and also pushing shells beyond where the extractor could eject them. I was thinking excess headspace in this new barrel, problems with a weak hammer spring, or maybe a damaged firing pin. Come to find out that when I put a new thumbhole buttstock on with this new barrel, the longer bolt that was needed actually threaded in to the frame far enough to interfere with the hammer spring operation. I never have read this in a forum topic, or heard of it before. Long story short I put another washer on the longer bolt, and all my problems went bye-bye. No misfires, no extractor issues. Thought I would share this learning the hard way story so maybe somebody else could save themselves some grief. Happy shooting!
