« on: March 29, 2010, 06:45:20 AM »
Will other stocks fit or just 444 model stocks?
i have aquired a 444 that in the future may want to replace stock set.

the buttstock is the same for the 336, the 444, and the 1895. and the forearms are the same for the 444 and the 1895 45-70. unless you have an older model with barrel bands or straight grip. i just bought brand new marlin stock and forearm from midway for my 444 that was built about 1992. was very happy they matched nice and bolted right on. buttstock is $86.99 forearm is $38.99 from midway usa.

that is a really nice looking set.

I found out this am the 336 and 444 stocks are the same.
Mine is a 1975 model with barrel bands, looks just like my 336 forearm and stock.
