Ruger single-six firing pin

Hello
I'm have some trouble trying to remove the firing pin from a Ruger Single-six .22 LR.
I removed the cross pin that lock in place, and try to extract to inside frame but it refuse to move. Any suggestions?

Why in the world are you trying to do that anyhow?
The single six was my first handgun...1979, and I still have it.  Never ever had to take it down to its bits and pieces, in fact I bet Ruger advises not to attempt such a thing.

So why are you doing this?

Perhaps you mean the cylinder pin?

Mc grow, with the cross pin removed, cock the hammer, there's just room over the transfer bar to tap the firing pin forward and out the front with a small punch and hammer. make a mark on the bushing and the frame so you can replace it in exactly the same place so the hole for the cross pin will line up.

Dear Mr El gringo:  I'm trying to reblue de Ruger, so the need for a complete disasembling. I undertand that is not necessary to do this for cleaning, and is very, very uncommon for repair. Thanks, I agree with your way of thinking.

Dear mr Hank08 I removed the cross pin disasembled completely the revolver and did what you recomend but it refuses to move. I soaked in WD-40 and wait for some weeks or so and I'll try again. Any other suggestion?
