What exactly is your goal and purpose? Why such a light bullet out of a huge case?
I can understand a 125 or 130grn semi spitzer or .30-30 slug out of a .30/06. Although I also understand a 170grn .30-30 bullet launched from a .30/06 at moderate velocity. Lot less meat damage than from an ultra-fast bullet!
However, if you're trying to develope a REALLY light load, or a "quiet" load - the 110grain .30Carb bullets (and similar) have their uses!
I used to have some .30Carb adapters to shoot in the .308W. Gonna replace them with adapters to shoot the .327Mag in the .308W
and .30/06! I expect to use lots of 100 and 110 grain plinkers and .30C bullets when I do.
BTW, at Rocky's Reloading Room, Mr Rabb lists a couple "universal" squib loads that use those 110 grain .30C bullets ..... I believe Rabb is using 10grains of Unique in ANY .30 cal cartridge (besides large volume "magnum cases" which might work with 12grain of Unique), under a 110grn bullet.
Great for small kids to shoot, or at dirt clods or varmints in camp, according to Mr Rabb.
