And I must now pass it on the more wise.

A few years ago I sold his wife an NEF Handi Rifle in .270 to give him for a caribou hunt we were going on.
He now wants to know if they make a muzzle loading shotgun barrel for it.

I told him, if they do, I don't think it will fit his sb2 frame.

Our first question, do they make a muzzle loading 12ga. barrel?
And, if they do, will it fit an SB2 frame?

Not sure it they made one but if it had been made it would have to have been for the Huntsman not the Sidekick to fit his frame. The Sidekick has a different barrel to action length. The Huntsman is the same as the rifle and shotgun frames with a few differences. The only problem might be the firing pin is a little small for a shotgun as it is made to fit the primer of the centerfire cartridge. On second thought the firing pin would maybe OK as my Optima Elite has a centerfire .270 barrel a muzzleloading 209 primer barrel and a shotgun barrel all with the same firing pin.

They did make them for the Huntsman but they are the older Huntsmans of the 1970's-early 80's. Those bbl's will fit a SB2 but the problem you may find is they were precussion cap ignition not sure how that will work with the small firing pin. The one I have is a press fit breech plug and I have not tried any other ignition system with it. They once had them listed in a catalog IIRC for new production but they never came to fruitation. I have seen them sold used for about $100. Fear of the O ring breech plug whacking you in the head I suppose.
