Misrepresented Browning BPCR on GunBroker
« on: February 22, 2010, 06:19:59 AM »
Just thought I’d warn anyone interested in the Browning BPCR .40-65 listed on GunBroker (item # 158672048) as a “NIB” rifle that the rifle is not original.  The are at least two issues, it sports a 30” FULL OCTAGON barrel when 100% of the rifles that left the factory had ½ round ½ octagon barrels, and it has been glass bedded.  The rifle may be in excellent condition and a tack driver, but it is not an original Browning BPCR.

You're right...! The seller is either terminally dumb, because he doesn't know how to express the caliber of the rifle properly. And, he doesn't know what the proper name is for cast bullets. Or, he could be a crafty criminal trying to sell something and lying about what the product is...!

I tried to register on GunBroker, however, they want a credit card number to register, and want to charge one dollar a month on the card... I'm unwilling to do that...

I think these people, GunBroker, are as phoney, and as greedy, as the seller of this firearm apparently is...

You have to be careful anytime money is involved.  Maybe it's someone that doesn't know better, but personally I am very careful about situations like this and don't believe that it's the seller's ignorance in question here.  I perfer face to face purchases.  I work hard for my money, so making a bad purchase through places like gunbroker and such, isn't gonna happen.
