« on: February 05, 2010, 08:00:14 AM »
I hope I'm not breaking any rules posting this. But to help out my fellow NEF shooters I thought I would let you Know that Cableas has CCI 17Mach2 ammo on sale on their web site for $5.99 and if your a NRA memeber, wich I hope you are, there is a coupon for free shipping in the NRA magazine( American Hunter) good for Feb5-7 for NRA members.Theres also another coupon if you like close to a store for 10% off your store purchase.

I get the American Rifleman, not the American Hunter and I did not see the coupon. I would not have been able to use it this weekend anyway...Thanks for the reply....<><....:)

Eley shoots the best in my 17M2 rifles. I get it from ammotogo.com  $49.95 for 500 rounds.

Thanks for the tip on M2 ammo at ammotogo.  Bought a brick, along with 880 rounds of 7.62x54R.  Nice place to shop!

I finally got back to Dick's to pick up some Hornady .17 Mach2 ammo on closeout at $3.97. It was now marked $2.97!!! I bought a BUNCH, it rang up at $2.57 at the register, and then discounted down to $2.32 a box!!!...I was quite pleased to say the least. I also picked up a few boxes of Winchester FMJ .223 that was marked down from $12.97 to $7.97, it rang up at $7.57...that made me even more happy. The day before I drove up to Dicks I even got a $10 off coupon in the mail!! All in all a very good trip. If anyone is looking for .17 Mach2 ammo and has a Dick's nearby I suggest you check it out....<><....:)

You're not Irish are you Andy?  ;)  Sounds like you got the luck o' the Irish on that ammo.

You better buy a lottery ticket. I went to a Dicks Sporting Goods in my area and they had no HM2 and werent planning on getting any. My wife went shopping with the daughters in a different town and they looked at the one there and it was $9.00 a box. They asked if it was on sale/clearence and was told no. So maybe its a local thing. But you sure hit the jackpot! Nice score.

Thanks, I'm very happy with it. I asked them why they had it on clearence, they said no one buys it. I told them it was difficult to find, they did say it might be the area.....so different stores may differ, but I have found the same prices in the Dicks in Mass and Maine....<><....:)

Ya never know with Dick's. Last week I got 3 boxes (lidetime supply) of Trout Magnet jigs. Usually $20, now $3. If you read rimfire central, 17M2 rifle prices are going through the roof because all but 1 of the manufacturers are discontinuing this caliber in their guns. So people are buying ammo too. Give it a year for ammo to stabilize IMHO.
