Anyone use RL 15 in 30-30?
« on: February 23, 2010, 01:21:25 AM »
I have a Marlin 336 (circa 1949) and will be loading 170gr Hornady FP Interlocks. I tried H-4895 and groups just weren't all that great.   I picked up some RL-15 but cannot find data for a starting/max charge.  If anyone has a Hornady manual and can list their starting/max loads I would appreciate it.  Thanks

Try Hornady online. I think they still list load data.

The Hornady 7th manual list RL-15 with 170 gr bullets for the 30-30
Start load 27.6 max 28.5 .

My buddy has always had good accuracy with the 170 with a max load of H-322.

Rel 7 or WW748 have been my go to powders.
