What is Marley?
« on: July 21, 2010, 04:38:59 AM »
Patty and I picked up Marley yesterday at the Sault Ste. Marie, MI Humane Society.  The society's papers say "Beagle".  What do you guys think?  He's about 16 inches at the shoulder.  The pic isn't great, he just came in from a run in wet hay.  I didn't know if he was Black and Tan/Beagle cross.  Thanks,

Oh yeah, that's the cat's tail bottom center, Wheedle.  They're buddies already.

Sure looks a lot like one of my beagles. Mine has more white on her legs though. The guy i got her from has her mother and father. Mine is taller then they are but not 16 inch. Told me both of his are pure bred but they belong to his son and he never bothered to register them. Not sure about that. Beagles come in a lot of different colors. My other one is registered and she is mostly black with white legs and muzzle. I love beagles. Have owned them for 50 years now. ;D

Thanks for the input guys.  He's turning out to be a fine dog.  He's well mannered and house broken.  At first, he was all over our bed, but he soon learned that was off limits and forgot that idea.  I was out in the yard with him doing some chores yesterday and he vanished.  I couldn't find him, but an hour later he was at the door wanting in so he knows where home is.  I fired a .22 with him, and he's a little gun shy now.  I'll work with him on that.  Small game opens in September, and we'll see how he does on bunnies.  I think by then when hunting he'll not even hear the gun go off.  He's here now sound asleep dreaming, legs going and woofing.  I think he's running a snowshoe hare.

He came properly named.  Marley's Bar and Grill is our favorite lunch spot when shopping in Manistique MI.  They have superb food and spirits, a friendly staff and a very nice group of customers.
