Ed is an extremely busy lad and rarely home except in the evenings "some" weekdays (always at gun shows on weekends).   Usually its best to call him to reach him.   I don't know what his current schedule is, but in the past I found best time to be around 7-8PM his time.

He's worth the wait, so keep trying...

I have dealt with ED several times, will again. Be patient.

I tried to contact ed numerous times by phone and finally got him one day and asked about purchasing a contender barrel (.357 mag in stainless in a length between 16 to 23inches) he said he would have to call me back after he checked to see what he had. I don't know exactly but it was somewhere around six to eight months ago. I guess he has a whole crapload of barrels because he must still be checking because he hasn't called me back!

I heard that the barrel sales is a sideline, and he is an accountant full time. This is the busiest time of the year for accountants, so may have a tough time reaching him. You have to try to catch him by phone. I've never heard anyone who said Ed replied to an e-mail! But everyone who has dealt with him has been satisfied.

I agree with the other guys. Ed doesn't do emails well at all but is worth the wait if you can contact him by phone. My advice is to call him again from time to time. If I need something for one of my Contenders I check Ed's website first.

I did CALL and did speak to him. he never called me back. I was trying to find out what he had and to make a purchase from him. I am sure he is a good guy to deal with because of the good comments from people here, But calling and not reaching him is one thing speaking to him and trying to buy a barrel from him and never calling me back is another. I know everybody is busy and it is hard to keep up with everything, But I am not going to stalk you just to try and buy a barrel from you.

Understood. Maybe what you're looking for will turn up in the GBO classifieds. Good luck.

He may have lost your phone number.  Calling back is hardly stalking.  And one experience does not make Ed a bad businessman.

Well, I called and got him,  when I started asking about barrels on his web site he kicked in with this is what I have in that Cal. So you can't go by what is listed on the site.
AND NIB dosen't mean what I thought it ment because the barrels I inquired about do not have the ULR/ bar code.  I will say he was willing to work with me.  ;D

Ed has hundreds of barrels in stock, maybe thousands! One of my friends works for Ed at the Wannemacher Gunshows in Tulsa and also a couple of the bigger shows in OKC. They do so much buying, selling and trading that they never know exactly what they have at any given time. The best way to deal with Ed is FTF at the shows. If you are within driving distance from Tulsa or OKC it would make a good weekend getaway. Like they said this is just a sideline occupation for Ed.

I've bought 3 or 4 barrels from Ed by email with no problem.....................I was in the Army so I know how to wait but  didn't have to wait long, usually just a couple of days, to hear from Ed. He attends gun shows too so he's gone sometimes.

:) :) :)I am new to this group. I have never dealt with Ed before this week and all I can say is I wish other places I deal with were as fast. I called Ed on Wednesday about a youth stock for a Contender, He answered on my first call told me what he had. I told him I would let him know as I had a deal in the works locally, it fell through so I called Ed back on Thursday. The first time I called I got an answering machine left a message then called back about 1/2 hour later and Ed answered. I placed my order at about 1:00 PM eastern time and today (Saturday) my stock arrived and I am very happy with it and with my transaction with Ed's Contenders. :) :) :)

I had a question for him and he responded by E-mail, then I called and left number and he called back in a few days.  Didn't make a deal, but was happy with his response.  DP

I just called him today> I have always been lucky I guess I usually call him around 3 or 4 pm eastern time. 9 out of ten times I get him. ;D

Check out his updated web site ( updated 2/21/2010) and click on hot new items. I got me a 24" 22 mag stainless barrel. The shipment on its way to him from the factory right now from Fox Ridge.

Lot of interesting barrels in that list. If I understood him right they are all Fox Ridge barrels under "Hot new items"
