Youth .22 ??
« on: November 10, 2003, 08:07:47 PM »
Any suggestions for a single shot .22 for a youth. Looking for a rifle for my son to start on that is reasonable quality, reasonable price and with the simplicity of a single shot. Needs to have iron sights. He's 7 now so lightweight and easy handling is important.

Thanks

Eric

hey eric! you might look at the new replicas of the old stevens crackshot single shot that savage is making now. they are a solid little gun and about the right size for a kid. the hammer spring is a little stiff on mine, just make sure your little one can cock it with out trouble. i like the fact that it can be loaded without the hammer being cocked in the process. my son was 7 when i got him one and he liked it and shot well with it. i think they are running about 200 bucks or less around here.
