Action Screws ? what size ??

I'm putting together a "project" rifle bases on an old 30-06 action, that for the time being will rest in the factory stock. I didn't get any action screws when I bought it.
What size screws do I need ?  I'ld hope they would be available from any good hardware store ??

i have taken the complete rifle to the hardware store. just warned the manager first.

no problem and go exactly what i needed.

i have also went to the yellow boxes and with permission taken sevaral boxes out at a time to find what i needed.
