Yea, I know what you mean. My .223 was fitted properly, but had some annoyances. Last winter I replaced the trigger guard with an m2(?) unit, which reduced capacity to 3+1, replaced the tall scope mounts, jeweled the bolt, and smoothed and coated the bore. The new trigger guard was not a drop-in part, it took considerable fitting to get it to work smoothly. So much that I decided to glass the now loose action. Of course, lowering the scope meant grinding off part of the bolt handle, and re-bluing. Cold blue for now, I'll wait for better weather to run the bluing salts outdoors and do the whole handle.
Whew, that was a lot of work for a rifle that shot great to begin with. Oh, and I also added a Neidner style grip cap from Midway. They are not expensive, fit like they were made for them, and dress it up a little. I'm anxious to get it out to see if I affected the accuracy.

Sure does look pretty now, though.
